The foreclosure is conducted by the sheriff or his deputy of the county where the foreclosed hud homes is situated. The property is sold to the highest bidder; a certificate of the sale is issued to him until the borrower's redemption period has ended.

The borrowers were given 1 year to redeem the foreclosed property. They should pay the balance due on the loan and costs. The redemption period lasts only for 6 months if the mortgage includes short-term redemption rights.
